When you are first starting out in the MotoX Sport there are a few things you need to concider, there are:

Aftermarket bike frames are not acceptable for competition racing.

GROUPS, AGES & CAPACITIES FOR 2010

CADETS 6 – 8 years Maximum 65 cc Auto
Born in 2001 – 2003 (on or after 6th birthday)
Wheel Sizes – 14”/12” or Manufacturers if larger.

JUNIORS 6 – 10 years Maximum 65 cc
Born in 1999 – 2003
Wheel Sizes – 14”/12”

INTER 85 SW 9 – 12 years Maximum 85cc 2 stroke
Born in 1997 – 2000 Maximum 150 cc 4 stroke
Maximum wheel sizes 17”/14”

INTER 100 BW 11 – 15 years Maximum 100cc 2 stroke
Born in 1994 – 1998 Maximum 150 cc 4 stroke
Maximum wheel sizes 19”/16”

SENIORS 14 – 17 years Maximum 144 cc Two Stroke
Born in 1992 – 1995 Maximum 250 cc Four Stroke

ADULTS 17 years up Bike Sizes are at the club discretion

All the above are age as at 1st January 2010. Where the overlaps occur, riders must decide at the commencement of the season, which group they intend to compete within for that year and then, remain in that group for the entire season.

A rider of schoolboy age who has competed in adult racing can only ride with the YMSA as an Expert Plus rider after their 16th birthday and only, then after successful application to their individual club Committee.

Any YMSA rider who reaches the upper age limit in his/her class on or after January 1st must complete the season in that class. Riders who have to ride in another class at a schoolboy meeting at AMCA, BYMX or BSMA because of their age will not have their YMSA status affected.
